The World Development Movement (WDM) campaigns against the root causes of poverty. Working in solidarity with activists around the world, we oppose injustice and challenge the policies and institutions which keep people poor.

Current campaigns focus on:

– The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP)

– The involvement of UK-based banks in financing coal-extraction around the world

– The adverse impact of The New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition on agriculture in Africa

More information on all these can be found at: http://www.wdm.org.uk/

The Calderdale WDM group is active locally, organising public meetings and lobbying in all these areas.

Meetings: 2nd Tuesday of each month (except August) at 7.30 in The White Lion, Hebden Bridge.
